Daily Briefings Assistant Manager (NZ)

Job description

The work that we do in observing and reporting on the media and the value we provide to our clients is inherently fascinating.  Daily Briefings are a customised media report containing key print, broadcast and online media coverage of specific interest to our clients business.  Our specialist team of editors identify and summarise the main news items from client’s media intelligence briefs into one, easy to digest update.  It provides a high-level snapshot of the day’s coverage and can highlight key issues for our clients enabling them to stay on top of the media and key influencers on a daily basis.

 

This is a new position, and is yours to put your stamp on.  We are looking for a leader to coordinate the Wellington Daily Briefings Teams, assisting the Daily Briefings Manager in ensuring the NZ team produces high quality briefings to deadline. 

 

If you worked as the Daily Briefings Assistant Manager for NZ, in a typical week you would:

  • Manage resources and workforce planning to achieve deadlines and deliver services
  • Work with team leaders to continuously identify team development needs and deliver relevant team training.
  • Ensure all client expectations are met by supporting the team leaders and their teams to adapt to a changing work load,  hitting deadlines and meeting quality guidelines
  • Respond to and action relevant communications to your team and internal account management teams
  • Work closely with the Daily Briefings Manager and Quality Manager, who are both based in Melbourne
  • Ensure the highest level of customer service is provided to internal and external clients 
  • Driven a culture of collaboration and knowledge sharing
  • Support the team leaders with clear direction, feedback and coaching as they continue to develop in their roles.
  • Driven engagement in the NZ Daily Briefings team
  • Jump out of bed ready to be here by 5am

Requirements

Who are you?

  • A background in operational leadership is essential
  • Experience in strategic workforce planning, recruitment and rostering
  • Skills to drive a culture of collaboration and knowledge sharing
  • Able to coach and mentor a high performing team that are focused on delivering outstanding service.
  • Experience in leading ER issues
  • Editorial background, ideally in print media, and understanding of text, writing and copy highly desirable
  • You have a passion for media and current affairs – industry experience would be of benefit.
  • You use your initiative to operate in a proactive manner, and are adaptable to constantly changing priorities
  • You have a focus on delivering client outcomes and resolving client issues.
  • You thrive in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment
